These portraits were captured during the spring of 2020, during COVID. I created this project to document my twins’ 4th grade class at the end of their school year.
These are just a small selection from the nearly 120 portraits I photographed over the course of a few weeks, masked and 6 feet away.
I don’t miss photographing with a mask, but I do miss the innocence of that moment in time.
In the middle of so much uncertainty, these kids still showed so much personality, lightness, humor, and heart.
Looking back at these portraits now feels both joyful and emotional, a reminder of how quickly childhood passes.
I will forever cherish these moments.
